If a recipe calls for 1 teaspoon of garlic powder and you do not have any, how much garlic salt can you use?

    I'd do it by taste and make sure you omit any other salt.

    Depends on the ratio of both ingredients in the garlic salt, and much salt the recipe calls for. If the recipe asks for 1/4 teaspoon salt, and the garlic salt consists of 8 parts garlic to 3 parts salt, you'd want to use about 1.5 spoonfuls of the garlic salt which would roughly equal the one spoonful of garlic powder that the recipe originally called for, and satisfy the necessary amount for the salt. That is provided the ratios are as indicated.
