  • It depends on the individual episode some can be really good but others go backwards and downhill. so my answer is yes and no
  • I think it was at its best when I was a kid. They're running out of ideas. What they are churning out now can't compare to the 90s.
  • I think *The Simpsons* jumped the shark when Flanders fornicated with that singer and never thought twice about it. I don’t care what you or I think about fornication; we’re talking *Flanders* here. Not only did he leave his panic-prone children alone all night, even waking up without their daddy, but he broke one of the most basic commandments known to Christianity! Yes, everybody—even Flanders—has a lapse in judgment, once in a while, but think about the character: he should have been an absolute wreck about it! Instead, he just told her that she’d have to marry him, if she wanted more; then headed home, apparently not even hurt by his lost relationship, with nary another thought of her. WTH?!? At the time, my wife and I kind of wrote off that episode as a stupid exception, since the series was still pretty dang funny. In retrospect, though, the writing was on the wall. I wouldn’t be too long after that before they degenerated from poking fun at religious hypocrisy into just plain blaspheming the Lord Himself. Any time a show has to resort to that, the magic is gone. My 2¢….
