Help answer this question below.
I have a Fry Daddy and I use it all the time. I make hot wings, mozzarella sticks, jalapeno poppers, breaded mushrooms, french fries, tator tots, fried fish, fried shrimp, I could go one longer.
I never use the oil from the fish for anything but fish, same with the wings.
No junk.No no.
Nope, we have more than enough kitchen appliances without one that make such unhealthy food.
no, I never deep fry anymore....if I ever did again, I would used a large pot with a lot of oil...yum....I would love some home fried chicken...yuuuuum...or fish or hush puppies.

Oh, heck yeah! I won't give up my Fry Daddy for anything, unless I can get something bigger!
ewwwww.... NO, NO, NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Never owned one
No I tend to like them lean.LOL
i dnt it stinks the house out when you use them. oven chips if i eat them lol. x
Never did, never will.
No way. I'd have gallstones within a week. I grill or use canola spray in the fry pan. For chippies I use the oven.
Everyone in India uses it. It is called Kadhai or a wok to do our deep fried items.Without it our meals cannot be made complete. Some have shifted to the non stick ones also.
I have never owned one. However, I have put oil in a deep pot, brought it to a boil and made things like Coconut Shrimp or Falafel patties. :)
I have never used one.
I am a firm believer that deep fried foods shouls only be eaten out. Two reasons.
1) This makes sure that I only eat fried foods on rare occasions.
2) I do not have to clean up the mess.
Never had one never will! I don't like them : (
I think it's funny all the comments about how it makes such unhealthy food. That is not only a blanket statement, but said such as that, is also ignorant and untrue.
It CAN make unhealthy food. It depends on a couple of factors. Mostly what kind of oil or fat do you use, and at what temperature you cook it at. If you use plain old vegetable oil, then that in and of itself while it won't necessarily make food unhealthy, it sure ain't gonna be healthy.
The other main consideration is tempurature. At a proper tempurature, the amount of oil absorbed by the food is extremely minimal, and adding a bit of butter to a frying pan or baking dish will actually impart more oil absorption in the food then a properly set deep fryer.
Resturants use vegitable oil for it's price and it's availability, and finally because it's least likely to cause an allergic reaction thereby saving oninsurance costs and reducing liability. In addition they have a single base temperature for all foods that are deep fried. It is a catchall temperature that will cook everything, and is usually lower then recommended as it will allow more oil absorbtion, and therefore allow faster cooking times. Since it's thought most people won't be spending majority of their time eating out, then the healthlessness of it isnegligable and will have zero impact in the grander scheme of things, and for most people they would be correct in that assumption. An occasional unhealthy food, such as a candy bar or a plate of french fries isn't going to have an impact on your health with the exception of people who have other health issues.
I have a deep fryer here at home, and have even discussed the subject at length with our family doctor, as well as other doctors in the same office, and they all concur. I've also had the same discussion with nutritionists who have had to concede.
Among the healthiest oils you can put in your fryer are peanut oil and olive oil. They are actually rather healthy in moderation. Couple that with a proper temperature not allowing much oil to be absorbed by the food and your cooking becomes nowhere near unhealthy, but can actually be the exact opposite. If you cook for other people as well then the peanut oil can be a problem since so many people are allergic to it. Olive oil I'm sure you can guess it's main drawback, which is cost. For a small deep fryerit can cost more then 50 bucks to fill it up. WHEW. Sunflower oil is also reasonable but it tough to find in any quantity, although it is relatively cheap. Canola oil also has a very low saturated fat content. When coupled with proper cooking temperature for the food at hand, the absorbtion rate is such that it will not make any difference inhealth unless you are deep frying day after day for months on end. While it's not exactly a comulative effect, not giving any downtime will allow it to build up.
Use a proper oil, use a proper temperature, and don't use your deep fryer for all your cooking, and it's a valuable appliance used to make tasty and not unhealthy foods.
This one falls into the category of use it right and there are no dangers. Just like a car, or a firearm.
Still do on occasion. Been using it for about 10 years now.
