Help answer this question below.
Collision and comprehensive coverage are designed to cover you in situations like this. Unless you can find out who did this and take them to court, you will likely be left paying for repair costs.
YOUR FATHER
collison and comp only help if you are the CAUSE of the accident and want your vehicle repaired. if it was a hit and run thats what uninsured/underinsured motorist is for. but that is not standard on insurance policies you would have had to pay for that.
You, unless cameras picked something up. sorry.
In the U.S., some policies have what is called uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. You will have to read your specific policy, because they are all different, but some policies I have seen cover a "hit and run" under this coverage instead of your comprehensive or collision coverage. If the insurance company does cover hit and run under this coverage and they deem your specific case to be a hit and run. . .you might be in luck. Call your company asnd ask. Hope this helps. You're reading I don't have collision or comprehensive coverage. My car was smashed in by another car, but there was no note, and no one saw anything. Who pays for this?
