There's plenty of material in the Bible on that particular subject and it all seems to be in favor of it

In fact, in christianity, God both promoted and despised incest, the promotion being in Genesis 9:1: "And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.", and discouragement can be found in Leviticus 18:6 to 18:25 states : ‘None of you shall approach any blood relative of his to uncover nakedness; I am the LORD. 7 ‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father, that is, the nakedness of your mother. She is your mother; you are not to uncover her nakedness. 8 ‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s wife; it is your father’s nakedness. 9 ‘The nakedness of your sister, either your father’s daughter or your mother’s daughter, whether born at home or born outside, their nakedness you shall not uncover. 10 ‘The nakedness of your son’s daughter or your daughter’s daughter, their nakedness you shall not uncover; for their nakedness is yours. 11 ‘The nakedness of your father’s wife’s daughter, born to your father, she is your sister, you shall not uncover her nakedness. 12 ‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s sister; she is your father’s blood relative. 13 ‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother’s sister, for she is your mother’s blood relative. 14 ‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s brother; you shall not approach his wife, she is your aunt. 15 ‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your daughter-in-law; she is your son’s wife, you shall not uncover her nakedness. 16 ‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your brother’s wife; it is your brother’s nakedness. 17 ‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and of her daughter, nor shall you take her son’s daughter or her daughter’s daughter, to uncover her nakedness; they are blood relatives. It is lewdness. 18 ‘You shall not marry a woman in addition to her sister as a rival while she is alive, to uncover her nakedness.
19 ‘Also you shall not approach a woman to uncover her nakedness during her menstrual impurity. 20 ‘You shall not have intercourse with your neighbor’s wife, to be defiled with her. 21 ‘You shall not give any of your offspring to offer them to Molech, nor shall you profane the name of your God; I am the LORD. 22 ‘You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination. 23 ‘Also you shall not have intercourse with any animal to be defiled with it, nor shall any woman stand before an animal to mate with it; it is a perversion.
24 ‘Do not defile yourselves by any of these things; for by all these the nations which I am casting out before you have become defiled. 25 ‘For the land has become defiled, therefore I have brought its punishment upon it, so the land has spewed out its inhabitants.'

18:6 to 18:23 refer to incest, and 18:24-25 show how God discourages it.

According to the most common religions, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, the whole world developed from two people. So basically we're all inbred.

Incest is a universal taboo, this is due to biological reasons (offspring of closely related people has a very high risk of disabilities).

Therefore, pretty much all religions say that incest is bad or a sin. However, for example in the Bible, Lot's daughters committed incest with Lot, and God didn't punish them, and they supposedly were the ancestor of god's holy people, so appearantly the judeo-Christian good isn't too sincere with condemning incest.

Those people who say Chistianity and God despises incest do not know their Bibles very well! What about Jacob and his 2 wives who were sisters who were also his 1st cousins? What about Abraham and Sarah they were brother and sister. what about Adam and Eve who did their children have sex with? What about in the Song of Solomon where the girl said she wishes her lover was her brother so they could have sex all the time? There are many instances of incest in the Bible and God not only condones it but in most cases even insists upon it. However in all but one case mentioned it was consensual sex and then in the one instance of rape God was upset because the girls brother did not love her and did not marry her.

So Christians do not say God abhores it when that truly isn't the case! His concern was the lack of proper controceptives to prevent unnecissary pregnancies.

    Depends on the religion.

Depends on what you define as incest and what religion you are referring to.

But incest in general terms is a taboo and is forbidden by all religions.

incest is only condemned because people figured out long ago that it tended to cause birth defects, so people said dont do it and tried to give religious reason for it to support. Now everyone is brought up to assume its a sin or totally nasty..although, who would want to fuck their sister a brother. thats just weird and un-gamely. Only a loser.
