Question

Help answer this question below.

Who would you hire for a part-time seasonal job at a clothing store? The pregnant girl that worked at "pump-it-up"? The chick with no personality? Or me, the girl with the degree, and years of retail experience...plus a great personality? WTF?

Well, it's obvious that the pregnant one puts out, so....

Seriously though, the other have it right. You are over qualified for the job. There is too much emplyee turnover in retail as it is. A degree holder is seen as more likely to be there much shorter than a non-holder is since you would obviously be looking for a better job from day one.

The fact that you have a degree shows you have intentions of using it, climbing that corporate ladder. They want a part-time employee that will stock shelves mindlessly and never hope of advancement. That wasn't you. If I were you, next time you apply for a job like that, minimize your experience to a degree. I have seen many people not get hired because the bosses felt they were 'over qualified'.

Sorry...the pregnant girl. She has less experience, won't want as much pay and probably only wants seasonal.

The pregnant girl all the way . She needs it more than you and if you have a degree and years of retail experience why not try and get a better part time job.secretary or something?

I would hire who interviewed best given that all applicants met the criteria for the job and had references equal for this job. I do not know which of you did interview best so I cannot answer your question properly.

I can tell you that you probably did not get the job because you are overqualified. I think that is silly in this case because this is a seasonal job and you being overqualified does not enter into the picture.

If you were applying for a full-time position I would consider it a problem because, as a boss, I would know that you are going to be leaving soon for a better job.

    Good luck to you.

you would be the obvious choice, but as the owner or manager i would have to ask you why a person with your abilities and degree is looking for a part time seasonal job. before i hired you i would have to be convinced you would stay on for the season. i would think if something better came along you would take it and leave me in a bind.

Depends on your degree, if you have a career why would you want to work at a clothing store?

That kind of job is for students to aid them in their studies, if yoiu have a degree I think you should work in your field.

I don't know ...... this is a very important position and I am not just going to give it up for nothing. Can you raise $1,000,000 for my campaign? Do you have any "special talents?"

Pregnant. Seasonal and pregnant are a perfect fit. And you came across already as someone I wouldn't like and likely would not hire.

Are there Three people or two? If it's three then I'd hire No personality girl ,definetly no personality girl. If two...wait for more applicants.
