  • The hard drives on laptops are removable. Slide it out and slide it back in again.
  • Please tell us what laptop you're using so that a link can be posted showing you the operation to reseat the hardrive. I'll try my best though. Your laptop on the bottom has about 4 compartments that can be opened via philiips screwdriver. Try to choose the one that has an icon of 3 or 4 discs stacked, printed on the compartment - this denotes your hardrive. Open the compartment, and slowly, in one uniform move, slide the hardrive away from the metal contacts. Then push it back towards the contacts. Make sure their is a firm connection. As the hardrive is connecting with the metal contacts, you will only slighlty feel when the hardrive is firmly connected. Be accute at this stage. If you can't do this process get your neighbor hood "geek" or somebody that knows computers in your family or area to do it.
  • It's too late at night.... It's important to have your laptop SHUTDOWN and UNPLUGGED from the wall before attempting the process. Otherwise you will experience data loss. Disclaimer: I will not be responsible for data loss from the proccess described below. Operate on your laptop at your own risk. The advice given considers your laptop to be out of warranty, you've followed the above step, and know that this process is a last resort to consulting a professional computer tech.
