How do you temporarily relieve the symptoms of acid reflux disease besides antacids?

    saliva is one thing that is supposed to help. it never worked for me. yogurt maybe. grape juice maybe. cranberry juice. acid in your stomach needs a base anti acid food to calm it down. i need four chewable tums tablets to kill my heartburn. i dont eat after seven pm. and that causes me not to have any problems.

    I just sip ice water. Some people like to drink warm milk with toast, and others say hot tea and toast.

    Make sure you talk to your doctor about it in case you are suffering from something more serious.
