Why do some pet owners insist on feeding their pets dangerous things like onion and garlic even though veterinarians warn against it, there are studies proving that it's dangerous and there's documented cases of animals dying after ingesting it?

    I'm sure most people don't even think of it -- they treat their pets like little people, and the pets are fed from the table -- they eat what the owner eats. I can't see why anyone with knowledge that they were hurting their pet would continue to do so.
