You're reading I've got the spyware that shows up featuring the URL 'virusremover2008'; should I use this: http://www.removal-instructions.com/removeVirus_Remover_2008.html#how_did_i_get_infected_with_spyware to get rid of it?
Comments
It's something that is apparently usually able to tack itself onto files (apparently networked computers are a bit of an issue)?
Already have spybot and ad-aware; first noticed pop-up occured before my last scan with spybot but admittedly I haven't run ad-aware in a while.
Is there a way you can direct those programs to look for a particular program in your system?

yea like anything else its a bit of code so it can transfer via files, pics, videos, software and the rest.
If you have an idea where it might be then you can go into that part of your hard drive (or wherever) using windows explorer and just right-click the specific area and scroll down to where it says 'scan with spy bot/ad-aware'.
if you find something your unsure of the copy the file name and search it in google. If it comes up as sinister then just delete it or shred it preferably
