  • I'm sorry but the question is pretty meaningless as asked. A computer is not a thing to be owned in its own right, but a tool to be used. There are many configuration parameters for a computer that need to balanced for your budget and needs. you want it for... Playing games? Storing movies/music? Secretarial work? Web surfing? And what is "not lots of money?"
  • Take a look at some of these compaq computers. I know many people think they are not very good, But I have owned three so far. The first one was running windows 98se, had that for four years, gave it to my daughter for one of her girls. It is still working good after all this time. I just wanted a new one, so I bought another compaq, which is downstairs, for all the family to use, that is now four years old, never had any problems with that one. I finally finished my computer room upstairs in my home, so, I bought another compaq computer, with the media center in it, I just love it. That is almost three years old now, and I use this one between 8 and 10 hours a day (I am disabled) but still runs like new, all have windows xp on them, I take very good care of all of my stuff! I just use my computers for surfing, email, lots of music on them, and many many pictures. I like to play pogo alot, they have many games there that I like. I do not use it for any of these fast paced games I see around, but it probably could handle most of them. I am just to old to get into any new stuff at this late stage, but I could if I felt I needed more stuff to do..lol I did not pay over $500.00 for any of them, most were around $400 or less, of course I always look for sales when buying anything. I purchased all of them at staples. I wish you good luck in your hunting for a reasonable priced computer→ http://www.shopping.hp.com/scat/desktops/SR5000_series/rts/3/computer_store
