Help answer this question below.

I side swiped a pole at my apartment complex, now there is a huge dent in the door panel and front fender. Will I have to come out of pocket for the entire damage to be fixed or just the deductible on my comp/collision?

    That all depends on the cost of the repair and your deductible. Even if it's covered, your insurance will go up so, guess what? You pay for it no matter what!

    You need to determine which will cost more. The cost to repair the vehicle or your deductible + any increase in insurance premium that you may get over the next three years. You will also need to find out if you will be held responsible for repairs to the pole. Depending on the pole and the damage you caused, the apartment complex may not care.

    it would be best to take it to the neighborhood mechanic and see if they will bump it out. then you could sand it down and prep it for painting. skip your insurance company if you can. also you are responsible for the pole. it might have to be replaced.
