This is why I think each soul is weighed and depending on the outcome depends on where they go. Kinda like the Egyptian belief. Anything else I think is wholly unfair.

I believe the answer is supposed to be something about, your family doesn't matter, your mortal ties. Like there's a story about someone asking which wife a man would be married to, that might have a more coherent answer. Not a Christian, so take with a grain of salt.

Well, answer this first. Are you sure you'll go to Heaven in the first place? You can't say if and get a certain answer without you being certain. Anyway... if you do indeed go to Heaven you'll have the chance to see their sins; in fact, you could also see why OTHER people didn't reach salvation. And you should never be sad in heaven for you'll be with Jesus for enternity! If you were a true christian that should be enough and more to keep you happy.

The way I heard it, God decides who goes where, and that is all that counts.

well i think that the only people going to actual hell are people who have known christ to live and have seen him then denied him. So i doubt that your parents will be going there (in my belief). also, if they are good people i think that when they die they will have the chance to accept god. God wont judge you just because you were athiest, just that you were a good peorson

What our ancestors did or did not do are in the hands of the Creator. If earth at as it is with extremists (from inconsiderate poluters to save the world types c0 existing together still- the world rotates and never fails to shine on both sides of the earth that's mercy. The field has weeds and wheat when the time is ripe the harvest will come. The weeds will be gathered together with the wheat then separated and what is useful to the farmer will be kept in the store- what that is not useful to the farmer will be burnt. If we honestly think our loves ones are good enough to enter into heaven we should not be afraid. In fact we should rejoice with such confidence..if there is doubt then only time can tell no use judging the farmer who plants wheat and does not consider weeds useful. Also a good tree will bear good fruits, no good trees will produce rotten fruits. By the fruit you will know. (Actions and Motives of the person) the world is not going to be a place of absolute, meaning no growth- all perfected- no it's still a growing and learning process but under a new kingdom- God's Kingdom- with knowlegdge of Him fully revealed, at present we are not able to totally Know..only by faith..it's a test of Love like in all relationships. We love because of what we come to trust- eg don't we trust our love ones? God has a higher standard of trust- faith, unseen yet a belief of His existence whether we acknowledge Him or not.. the time has been set and will come. Like all merciful and understanding parents - there is CHOICE- BUT is yours and whatever your love one chooses they are fully capable and responsible for their own choice. No one chooses blindly or not totally unaware of the consequences of their choice. The evidence is seen everywhere..choose wisely ..I would choose and be useful to the farmer. :)

do not worry there is no more hell than heaven god does not even exist so take it easy , and enjoy your life and then we all will die and that is the end of the story .
