Can u buy the lenses for a digital SLR in a store ( bestbuy etc)?

    It depends on the camera... It also depends on what you are looking for. For example, I can purchase the 70 to 300 standard zoom lens for my D70/ D300 at any electronic store, but the 80 to 400 VR lens I had to purchase at a camera store. Generally its the law of supply and demand, to the average consumer $1300.00 is a little much for a zoom lens but $300.00 is more afordable. So the chances of the store selling the $300.00 is higher, therefore the store is more likely to carry it.
