  • The nature of something is what scientists attempt to discover about it. The nature of something is the basic essence of it and is the same for all of it's "variations". The Nature of water is a substance composed of two parts of hydrogen and one part oxygen. It may appear in many colors, but water always has the same basic formula. The Nature of something is that which it basically is. The Nature of something is usually totally different from the myths that have been evolved about it. Doctors used to reccomend smoking as a path to better health. When it was proven that, based on the nature of human tissue, that smoking was very dangerous, things begin to slowly change. Normal myths, even in the presense of scientific "proof", are very difficult to change. It is normal to believe that there is such a thing a constructive criticism. Many believe that based on the true Nature of human beings, criticism is abusive and destructive. This is one "thing" that will long be debated mostly because many people love to criticize "loved ones". It's very hard to phrase an Nature of explanation such that it makes sense to most people. A person once told me I would benefit greatly if I realized: "You don't have a soul, you are one". There's a profound statement about the possible Nature of people. It certainly, over time, changed my life. Hope the above helps.
