  • I doubt it and I would hope not. It probably depends on the crime but if you're in maximum security prison, you probably don't deserve that right in my opinion.
  • The only one who can answer this is the warden at the prison. A lot has to do with the crime committed and the family member. All prisons are different in how they conduct their business.
  • I don't know about all of them, but I know it's a possibility. When my mother-in-law passed away, my brother-in-law (serving a life sentence for murder..was parolled twice and went back on drug charges) was allowed some time at the funeral home after visitation. I think that the facility he is in will only consider doing that in the case of a mother/father. He was allowed to attend the funeral of my father-in-law. I don't know why they wouldn't allow him to attend his mom's.
  • Here you can attent the funeral in handcuffs and schakels if you can afford the cost of the two guards who have to go with you and the transportation costs something like 750.00
