Help answer this question below.

I got a speeding ticket on my way home but the countycop didnt pull me over i had just gotin out my truck at the gasstashon when he pulled in and stared talking and asked for my lisens then rote me a ticket. Can he do that with out pulling me over?

    Yes, he can because he witnessed you violating a traffic law. In fact, in most states he can follow you all the way to the state line (if you drive that far) before he issues you a citation. He has the right to find a place where he is comfortable transacting a traffic stop, and as long as the infraction occurred in his jurisdiction and he can articulate why he waited so long to stop you, he is in the right. Obviously this guy could not stop you on the road and found it safe to go ahead and cite you at the gas station.

    Yes, if you were speeding. I once pulled into my driveway and then saw a cop pull in behind me in my rear view, and got a ticket.

    Yes.

    I have gone to a persons house and wrote them a citation.

    Sometimes, the timing is wrong or the situation is not safe to stop a traffic violator.

    All the officer has to do is to write down the date, time and location of the offense. get a registration on the license plate and knock on the door.

    Or, the officer could see a judge and have a state warrant issued, which would mean a physical arrest instead of a citation.
