  • Eh, kinda. But who cares. Now that the blacks have gotten their first president, they can fucking chill now. I mean seriously, on the news today it was all "whites" and then "african-americans" Bull shit. Why am I not a european american?
  • no. Countries can be better.. Skin colors can not be.
  • Sure why not. Still feel America is the greatest country. And I still like being white. Wouldn't change either if I could.
  • Why should I, as a white person, be obligated to feel guilty, apologize, regret or have less pride in my ethnic heritage. I don't think my skin color is better, but I wish I was allowed to have the same level of pride in my race without being falsely labeled as a white supremacist. And yes, WE do live in the greatest country in the world!!!
  • No. I didn't vote for McCain, but I thought his speech was gracious and I truly admired his patriotism and loyalty to his country. I don't think that honoring one's country equates with any sense of supremacy. I think he was trying to be gracious and acknowledge his life's body of work in service to what he believes in. I hope that most of us can agree that this a pretty good thing.
  • If he/she has travelled the world it would just be a judgement call. I have seen quite a bit of the world, enough so that I really think America is the best and don't want to see any more of the rest. Although, with the election results just in, I'm afraid we are on our way to being a 3rd world country. But, we've made our way back before and I'm sure that we will again.
  • Hey that's cool, i live in the best country in the world aswell, its good to be patriotic, i love Australia!
  • Not really. But I always think it's a bit of a laugh when an American says they live in 'the best country in the world', when they've never been to any other ones.
  • I served in the US Marine Corps, I am a Christian, and I am a Jazz Musician. While I LOVE America, I can not be so bold as to call it the greatest country. Our forefathers laid a plan for this country. Albeit, it is yet a young country, we have far to go even still until we can declare our greatness. It feels almost blasphemous to consider ourselves within such a stature with so much suffering and injustices yet lingering in the world as we whine, sitting in the gluttony of our comforts. How lovely was the man who died for every skin color, and every country. "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." -- Mahatma Gandhi TY Sara for another great Q. Axe
  • America is not perfect, by any means but I think the widely used proclamation that American is the greatest country in the world should be put in context. It stems from the fact that no nation in history has ever lent itself to the protection of individual liberty, freedom from oppression if you will than the U.S.A. Not only for it's own citizens but for others around the globe. The U.S. has spilled more blood, used more resources, spent more money, or any other measure you choose on ending oppression, disease, and poverty than any other nation in history, by far. That is something you should not fault us for taking pride in.
  • Blah blah blah racist blah.
