Nothing, thats the problem. But you sure are prrty. :)
saying it to.
Cringing...
what do you think McCain was doing when his priest was condemning the Jews?
Listening attentively? Eh aldebaran? :)
Listening attentively.
I do have to say, he might be radical, but from what I read of what Wright says, he does put out a good argument.
Here is what I read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeremiah_Wright_controversy
Because of all the U.S. has done to people in our own country and abroad throughout history, he said we shouldn't sing about "God Bless America" but "God Damn America" instead.
[My Opinion]:
We have put horrible people into power such as Suddam Hussein, helped horrible groups of people such as the Communist Party of China during WWII and have brought hate upon our own people and still continue to hate. Even now, we side with Georgia's story though Russia's invasion of them was retalliation of Georgia's assault on South Ossetia. And our wars are fueled not by protection, but corporate greed and personal reasons.
We have even been warned before being attacked by our own government officials and didn't listen all because of arrogance. "That could never happen, it's impossible." - bull$#!%, tell that to all the people who died in 9-11.
If anything, this makes me want to vote even more for Obama and not McCain and Palin who Palin said that would go to war with Russia if they invaded Georgia again which would more than likely ignite WWIII. Because, we aid our allies of NATO. By the way, Bush wants to get Georgia in with NATO.
To answer your question, I think Obama listened to this man and likely agreed on some of what Wright argued. Why else did he go to his church for over two decades.
Call me a fool, call me ignorant, call me wrong. Call me what you will. But I have the right to my own opinion and I have said it.
Who cares? Not being a typical American-loving cultist? Thinking critically about world affairs and America's role in them?
Standing up and shouting Amen just like the rest of the congregation :)
Hoping nobody noticed him in the congregation.
The same thing I do on the very rare occasion that I don't catch fire walking into a church. Wondering when the old pompus windbag will shut the hell up so I can get home and catch the end of a steelers game.
Taking notes, recording every word and expression, had his mini recorder running to capture every facial expression for future reference.
Quietly nodding in agreement, trying to resist the urge to jump up and shout AMEN.
