  • Sure, I would love to date any sort of amputee, or women with other types of physical differences. For readers who may not know, SAK refers to a single above knee amputee. Two of my most wonderful and rewarding relationships were with amputees. Missing a leg did not make them less beautiful, sexy, smart, competent, or capable in any way. The greatest error in my life was not marrying one of them. If you are an amputee, you will probably encounter some people who harbor some sort of prejudice and view you as less dateable than other people, but they are probably not people you would really want to be with anyway. There are lots of people who will not care, and you may even encounter some who may be attracted to you because of it.
  • You are right many tend to judge others. However I have found some ablebodied people joining our clubs, groups. Peole are starting to change thier views towards disabled people at last. An ablebodied lady contacted me wanting to find a man who was a DHD amputee in a wheelchair she has since joined our group,so there you go.
  • I wish more people had answered this one. I lost my left leg above the knee, and I think that it does make it harder to get a date. Besides my leg and having a fake eye I think that most people would find me attractive. I am kind and have a good professional job, but it is really hard to get a date.
  • Thanks, Norm. I don't think that all the men who don't date because of my leg are jerks. Some are just experiencing one flavor or another of shyness. I can understand how inexperience with people with disabilities and mixed messages in our culture can exaggerate my "otherness" in a guy's mind. It could make it harder for him to approach me,, no matter how much he may be attracted to me. It's not right and it's not fair, but the barriers are still there. I don't give up. I just acknowledge that it can be harder for amputees, even with good, well meaning guys. Thanks again.
  • I would not mind dating an amputee woman AT all in fact I would love to be dating one the problem is I can't find one in my country so....:(
  • Never give up Hope. You could attend Ascotworld conference this May. And or join our social group on the net. Why not! Best of luck.
