For me to put games on a external hard drive to i do them seperatly or can i do it from my other hard drive in my computer?

    You can install programs (including games) to an external hard drive. When you plug the drive in, you'll notice it gets a drive letter in My Computer. Note that letter and choose it when you are asked where you want the program installed.

    Unfortunately, this strategy has some inherent flaws. If you habitually add and remove removable drives from your computer (USB thumb drives, external hard drives, etc.), drive letters are going to change and each time you plug the external hard drive in, it may not get the same drive letter each time. This may be fine for you, but if Windows expects to find your game on the 'E:' and your hard drive was given 'F:' this time around, it won't work.

    It's usually not a good plan to put programs on an external drive - better to put user data there instead.

    Now - if you thought you could install a game to your external drive just by moving the existing folder from your C:, that usually won't work either. When you install programs to C:, Windows notes where the program resides and if you move it, Windows plays dumb and the program won't work.

    I was about to ask the same question till i seen your's, I'm also wondering the same i'm wanting to put WoW onto my external Drive, But not sure as how to move the game onto there ;(

    I'm a little confused on your question, but I'll give it a try. You can load/install most games to an external hard drive and play them from there. Please elaborate.
