Tragic! She practically raised Obama and shes not gonna be able to see him elected president of the United States, literally 1 day before the election...... thats just so sad.
Very sad news. And, I'm sure he's very sad that he not only cannot go directly there, but also that she did not live to see the outcome of his bid for president. :(
It says she "died peacefully". I suppose that means she was unaware, wonder how much she was aware of her grandson. She would have been very proud im sure.
He has the condolences and prayers from us in Hawaii.
Whatever you politics, he obviously loved her very much, its sad she did not get to see the result of tomorrows election, and maybe her grandson named President. :-(
It's so sad that she was not able to see the results of the election, but I'm happy for Obama that he was able to see her one last time. I missed many opportunities like that in my own family because of all of our travels and overseas living.
My sincerest condolences go out to all of her loved ones.
i give my condolences. can you please provide a link to where i can read the whole article so i can know the whole story if you can?
Sad thing to hear, I wish she could at least seen the election results.
Only 1 day away :(
Very sad to happen right before what might be the biggest day of his life. She was such an inspiration to him and from what I've heard, she worked during WWII in a factory. She helped raise Barack and his sister, I'm glad he took a break to visit her not long ago.
Sorry for your family's loss, Barak. Make your Grandmother proud, wherever your life takes you.
So sad for him. Just one more day and he could have mourned privately and without distraction. How hard the next 28 hours will be for him. I send my most heartfelt condolences to him and his entire family. Toots must have been quite a woman.
This is so sad to hear.
My heart goes out to the Obama family
at this so sad time my thoughts are with them
may her soul flie free for ever, rid of all earthly pain
I will even tho I am against most that he stands for
As much as i dislike the man and his stance on the issues he has my condolences and prayers.
I will!
Did she actually die? I thought she was just very sick.
Condolences and prayers from Texas.
I will, although I'm still voting against him. Some things should transcend politics, and this is one.
Where was Obama born and what is his religion?

Isn't it hilarious Obama doesn't want to "re-litigate" the last 2 years when he's spent 2 years is re-litigating the Bush admin?

You're reading Barack Obama's grandmother just died a bit ago. Who will join me in condolences for Sen. Obama and his family?

So true. She is a major one to thank considering she was instrumental in forming his character.
