still not clear . these are variations of beliefs. but it is still belief? why? if it is to see the light you solved the planet problem for energy but seems to fail as we use more energy now as ever . so i still not see the light .

Surely there is a creator and as he created everything ,You too are the art of almighty!God is keeping watch over you and so you too should remember god.Our Parents are the means of delivery But god is the ultimate in everything!

They need some kind of explanation of what this life is all about and why and they chose to believe that reasoning. And because they believe in Him they are afraid of the consequences if they dont.

Why do we as humans have to enslave our minds in the name of religion? We have this one life to live as we see fit. Why anyone would allow their mind to be controlled by the writings of other men is beyond my comprehension. Religion is control thru fear and is not dissimilar from government.

Lol there simply is God. Believers choose 2 believe. Non believers choose not believe. And people who r not convicted enough in their own personal beliefs choose 2 try and tear down others who do have faith and conviction.

I like how you answer your own question about 3 or 4 times. People need God like they need the Universe. Without it, we would not exist. Of course this leads into the debate of "the existance of God." But the Universe existed before we knew it did, Same way God is a fact whether one accepts it or not.

I believe in God whose name is Jehovah because he believes in me.

I think its because it gives us an explanation to those questions that can never be answered... how did we get here? why are we here? where will we go after we die? God is an answer to all these... I think it stops people from going insane... You don't need to believe in God.. some people don't believe in anything... just the scientific side of things..

The purpose is that all the people will be avenged,those who persecuted,oppressed,and committed intolerable and unforgivable acts upon other people.Etc.those who inflicted unnecessary pain,and suffering along with starvation upon a multitude who miraculously existed along with them,and took it all for granted.Redemption that my perspective.

Many reasons: Need for security, need for guidance, need for social solidarity, desire for justice to those who have hurt us, desire for a rewarding afterlife, ignorance of science, fear of the unknown that results in a godless universe, fear of defying one's family/clergy, desire for a miracle when you or a loved one is ill/in danger... Having said all that, I don't believe in any divinity. I'd much rather live in a sad, transient world ruled by truth - than a happy fantasy-land that supposedly lasts forever in different realms, which denies all evidence regarding its own ridiculousness.

That's a judgement call on your part, that believers "need" God. You already have your opinion that they need him, so don't you also have an opinion as to why they need him? Is this really a question? I don't know about other people, but I don't believe God because I "need" him. I am agnostic in the sense that I maintain that I don't KNOW God exists. I think no one can know if God exists or doesn't, either way: it is a question about metaphysics, and we are constrained in our physical world, so how could we answer it? I believe in God because I believe in him, because my heart tells me he exists. I don't need him, I just believe in him. There's a difference. I find it offensive that you assume that just because someone thinks differently than you, they have some deficiency, in that they "need" to believe that way or else. Hasn't it ever occurred to you that maybe you're the one who's wrong--maybe even that you're the one who needs to believe a certain way (i.e. that he doesn't exist)? Knowing that you could be wrong doesn't mean you have to change your life around: it's called humility. No one can be right about everything all of the time, so why would you be for sure right about this?

We need God, Because hes are comfort,he is the truth, he has given us beatiful morals to live by, he shows us love and how faithful he is to those who believe and give him thanks. We need God because without him life would be meaningless. We need God because he is our healer and he gives us hope and strength to stand against anything. we need God because he has amazing plans and purposes for our lives. But really is it about need, I think it is more about loving and wanting God and knowing that he loved us first and how he only wants us to love him back. Also we LOVE God because he sent his only Son into the world to die on the cross so we may have forgiveness of our sins, so we will not perish but have eternal life.

I think that god exists because when we look at the principles of the univesrse, it seems like all this cannot be a chance. I dont think its the one that religious , goody-two shoes , fanaticial gooners with their own scriptures , stating that there right , and only they are, cause they have the proof ! Religion cause major fear , hope , and really wants to make us seem that we are worthless and sinfull . The 'dumb arses' who fall under this trap , feel that this world isnt enought for them and there must be more to a life ... Hence .. heaven and hell . Maybe it would be to diffcuilt for them to except that theres nothing , and we are no more than connected with nature . Logic as it seem isnt enough ! Exuse my ADHD !

Believers need god to quantify their beliefs, no matter what religion. Man needs God to save him from himself. The fool has more ways to kill himself, exponentially, than to live with his fellow man!!!!!

What else would they believe in? God is the only Absolute in this world, so it is logical that they would believe in God.

Well why do you need your mom? For food, water, morale support? You need someone to teach you right? That is how God is viewed, as a teacher. He teaches us what to do and what not to do. Some people are passive and need someone or something to tell them what to do because they cannot do it themselfs. Sometimes people with depression "find God" and their lives change dramatically. They believe that there is a supreme being that is watching over him/her till the end of time. People don't like to be alone so if they have the belief that God is with them it raises their spirit and it increases the productivity. So God is basically moral support. Some people cannot do certain things without God or memorizing certain biblical scriptures that raise their morale. Some basketball players may say "I couldn't have done it without the guidence of the Lord." As for God some people like to have the, "OH I play golf with the boss" complex. They need it to feel important while others simply do it for moral reasons. Also if people believe in God they believe in Heaven and that raises the motivation to be good. However the negative effects of religion include ignorance, intolerance, arrogance, etc.

In my opinion, god is the part of philosophy. We find a lot of things that we can't solve with science in our life. Humankind is animal which can't be stable without question solved. So, people find those mysteries, they have to use the existence of god and solve the questions. It was good explanation to convince people. By the way, I trust people who believe God. 'cause they all have common sense. Our common sense might be based on it. It might be a origine of law, education...

Believers need god in order to put their spirits up. Hence, to help them cope with life everyday.

Why do non-believers not need God?

Go commit a random act of kindness. Quit wasting your life insulting people. Try to do something that will make the world a better place. God reveals himself to those who seek him. It is simple. You don't want to see him-so you won't. The circumstances to which my belief lies is nothing to joke about-you should consider what types of circumstances may make one a believer and realize you could be making fun of a Cancer survivor or someone who lost a child or both. People believe God has really helped them. Try to spend you time more wisely.
