I don't have a dog, but if I did and that happened, I'd first call to my dog to see what response I got. Then I'd approach the handler in a civil way and explain the situation. If they wouldn't cooperate, I'd call the police while detaining them . . . even if I had to request other passersby to assist me.

Politely Go and ask them where they got your dog? And then ask for it back. Depending on how they got it, you may get it back.

Tell them immediatley that is your dog. If they insist its not call the police. You might have to go to court and prove it. That is why its smart to get animals tatooed or implanted with a microchip.

I would defiantly say something, because it is your dog. If your not that attached to it and they fell in love with it, I would let them keep it. If they didn't want to give it back I would defiantly go to court or something. Especially if it was my dog. Or I would steal her back, ha ha...

Defo call the dog and see if it responds. Also get evidence that it is definately your dog e.i photographs etc then go the police and sort it out through them. Thats totally out of order especially if the dog has been stolen or even if it just went missing they should have reported it to a kennels and put up leaflets saying it has been found. I'd be absolutely heart broken if my dog went missing but luckily he's very distinctive and has two different coloured eyes but even if he didn't I'd know him a mile off! Hope it all works out!

I call out my dog's name. When he comes running toward me I thank the person profusely for taking such good care of him and tell him/her how worried I was and how grateful I am that someone so kind found him until we could be reunited! :)
