Help answer this question below.

Why do I see banner ads with adult content on almost every NON-pornographic site I go to? Even on this site I see the ads. Other sites that I've seen them on were youtube.com and ebay.com. I ran a spyware and virus scanner and nothing helped.

    Web sites do have the option of selecting the types of advertising which will be displayed. The services which coordinate the advertising (like Google Adsense) allow the web site operator to make such choices part of their account preferences.

    The easy solution to this kind of a problem is to use Firefox as your web browser and install the Adblock add-on. There is a problem with this solution though, you're depriving the web site of "eyeballs" -- these sites get their revenue by click-thrus, if everyone uses Adblock to halt the advertising then the sites won't have a revenue stream.

    I don't think it's my place to tell you what you should do, but that's what I know on the topic.

    It's not really something that you can remove with an anti-virus or a spyware scanner. Those images won't affect your computer, as long as you don't click on it.

    Advertising banners are specific to the user. Someone has been searching porn on your computer, whether it's you or someone you know.
