Because feminists don't care about men. It really isn't egalitarian at all, even though they claim it is.

To a point, I think you're right. Men are generally more concerned with getting what they want than playing nice and so the charitable interpretation is that feminists figure men can look out for themselves well enough. But also I think feminism is focused a particular aspect of equality. Equality could be broken into four types: no discrimination against men/women and no perks for men/women. As far as I can tell, feminism does try to make sure no discrimination happens against women - it just isn't at all concerned that women don't get perks for having a second X chromosome.

Because it seeks female superiority and sometimes even misandry, not equality.

Because feminism does not deny femininity. It just doesn't want the female gender to suffer any more male chauvinism, thats all. Feminism demands equality in treatment of either gender within the framework of civilized behavior. It is just a movement aiming at a social change.
Egalitarianism is an altogether different political and economic philosophy.

OK, so it's not so much concerned with equality for all as it is with preventing discrimination against women. I'll buy that.

because it teaches that women (females) should be treated fairly. they believe and preach that men are superior to women in the work place, and that it should be equal.

But feminism addresses issues far beyond workplace equality. Maybe that's how it started out and the name just stuck?

probably. they also preach for equality in the military. they say men receive promotions over women because of gender and not ability or service time.

Sorry, bad joke. eagle-itarianism, get it? Oh well...
Feminism could be refered to as an egalitarian movement however I would be hard pressed to believe that the feminist movement would support any other equil rights movement without the feminist adjenda in the forefront. Plainly put, equil rights for any other faction brought about by the feminist movement are just fallout.
Feminism is a political action group with the feminist intrest first. Therefore it could hardly be called egalitarian.

You really have to see this issue in a cultural and political perspective. It was not so long ago that women weren't even allowed to vote. The place of women was in the kitchen and in the house as a mother, and they could not make their own choices. They where really second hand citizens, controlled by a dominant male culture. There where no women in high places in society, because no man would take them even seriously. A woman had to listen to her man and be mainly productive in giving childbirth. Aside fromn that, she was considered to be a hysterical emotional being, with less intelligence.
The word feminism comes from that era. Women wanted to have more power over their own lives, and been seen as equal, and have all equal chances that men also had. This needed a revolution back then. To be able to vote, work, and so on. This revolution was really about women gaining power over their own lives. Hence the word feminism.

In some cultures, today, it would be a great thing if a revolution like that would take place.

Except the term didn't come into use until the 60s, when there had already been a century of hard work by pioneering women to get women the right to vote, and give them employment opportunities.

Fact from fiction, truth from diction. The scuttlebutt is all about women nbot wanting to be treated as 2nd class citizen. It seems many women are all for equality when they out better or end up on top. I have not seen any feminist step up to the plate to say men should have the same and equal rights in birth as the woman, when half the DNA is his. Then it is like "Back up Jack, I have sole choice of weather the baby loves or dies". Why can't he have a legal abortion if he don't want to be a father. He won't appear on the birth cert, never have any contact with the kid (unless they becime 18 and seek him out), but he owes her or the child nothing. Or if he can't be the dad he wanted to be and was ready to take on, he gets compensated for his loss. The fact is men and women or like hardware and software. Both are different but is made to work together. Imagine if your computer had the choice to be all software and no hardware or visa versa. No one would be online because you have to have the ying and the yang to make it work.
