It was a 1973 Vega.
I don't know. It just had everything go wrong with it ...
but then, it took a pretty bad beating from me.
Now that would be some Vega!
A green gremlin! It was ugly!
A Dodge Dart
An 76 Plymouth Fury.
The electronic ignition system would constantly not work due to a tungsten ballast resistor which constantly had to be replaced because it would break on account of being so brittle.
Corvair..engine in the rear..you get hit from behind you go up in flames! :(

Flintmobile. Thing hurts my feet;)

Why have eight cylinders in an engine? Why not have one big cylinder of the same displacement of the eight cylinders instead?

I think just about everyone who ever owned a Vega felt that way. I had one too.

OK!!!! The way you told about it, made it sound like one my sister had......She had a few problems with her's also. I'll never forget the first day I set in it tho. I was use to getting into bigger trucks. And that little car felt kind of like setting in a corvette back then. They both were only a few inch's from the ground. Come to think about it. I think hers had a few corvette parts under it............Oh'well those were the days.

That inch off the ground thing was the source of many of ots problems. We were living in the mountains around Virginia Tech and I must have had that thing in the shop 5 times to fix the leaky oil pan.

Boy I could sure understand how easy that could or would of happened......LOL

Especially the way I was hitting those bumps in the road.

Maybe if that little Vega had a lift kit under it. Lets say it was modified & was setting on top of a 4wheel drive jeep frame. With about a 6 or more inch lift kit. It may of worked better on those mountains over there. But I'll bet it would of been a squirrely thing to try & drive out on normal roads..........LOL......
