look up indiana code 35-41-3-2.
indiana is a stand your ground,no duty to retreat state.the use of deadly force is legal.make sure to read entire article.
those two men are very lucky. had this happened on my property they would be worm food.
it seems many fellow hoosiers are not aware of this rightious law.
pass it on. the more human garbage we can exterminate the better we will be as a society.

The law states you have a right to defend yourself.
In the situation you described, you are well within your rights to do what you did.
Did the robbers have weapons? if so, this further gives you a defense to protect yourself.
