Is anyone a member the Porsche Club of America? If yes, is it worth joining?

    I have been a member for a few years and I think it is worth it. It is a good way to learn everything about your car. There are many activities ( rally's, driver ed seminars, tech sessions, even bbq's) through local chapters. Also, there is a monthly newsletter from your local chapter. The PCNA is also a good source of tech info, using their online resources. I also enjoy reading the monthly magazine, Panorama, which is part of the membership. I hope this helps.

    I've been for a number of years. Besides the cameraderie, there are special interest groups for many interests. My fav is the HPDE, High Performance Driving Events which is an insurance-speak way of saying that you get to drive your car at ANY SPEED on a racetrack! It's an untimed event - you are only racing against yourself - so your insurance typically covers you if you have an accident, though you need to check with your own agent. Plus they are technically considered a drivers education course so your agent might even encourage you.

    It's not unstructured, of course, there are many safety rules to ensure that all that horseflesh out there returns safely to the road.
