  • You hear your conscience talking to you, it shouts "RUN!" You could choose to ignore it, many people do. Then again, half of all American marriages end in divorce. Frankly it is far easier to simply not get married in the first place, rather than spend $75000 in lawyers fees five years from now. If you are not going to run or back out now, you must seriously question why you are getting married. In what ways will you be better off? What is the source of your fears. If you don't find good answers, you'd better listen to that little voice.
  • Ok, breathe and think! Do you fight alot? Do you have the similar or different intrest in life, hobbies, money (saving or spending), and activities? What about your personal beliefs about God and family or they similar or diff. Do you see the two of you growing closer and being happy or do you think there are issues that could divide you as time goes by.... the answers to these will indicate whether or not you should marry this person. Why don't you both sit down and talk about your hobbies, likes & dislikes, beliefs about marriage, raising kids, religon, money, and your goals and dreams for the future, see if they match up. If you can't commuicate about thses things now then your marriage is going to stay strained from lack of communication. Plus, just the fact that your freaking out so much says alot, you should be excited not freaking out.... think about it, talk about it, and let her know how your feeling, she may feel similar.
