Help answer this question below.

A true scenario: A woman on a Native American reservation is raped by someone not living on the reservation. No legal recourse was possible due to jurisdiction laws. How is this possible?

    it would be the same way if it were reversed...if someone from the reservation raped somebody off the reservation...then went back to the reservation...there would be nothing anybody could really do about it

    Because the reservations are in federal jurisdiction and it takes forever for the FBI to get there sometimes days. This is a rapidly growing problem and honestly has been for a long time but is just now getting media attention due to some of the social workers efferts to get it stopped.

    thats one sceneario that I guess shows how being exempt from federal law can work against a peoples instead of for it...not that the rapist would be caught or punished even if the federal government did have jurisdiction, but on reservations the government does not have legal jurisdiction.
