When I try to play a game on my PS2, it will start off fine, but it'll start lagging and/or freezing (it does this for every game i play). My dad and I think it's the scanner, but we're not sure. What is the problem and how would we fix it?

  My ps2 game (ratchet and clank 2) has been loading until the cut scene before you start playing, then it just repeats itself over and over.
