Help answer this question below.

I just put a file into the recycle bin and emptied it. Now I realize that I need it..can I retrieve it or once the bin is emptied its gone?

    The first thing you must do to even have a chance of recovering this file is stop writing things to your harddrive. Do not save anything. The following is taken from "http://www.geekgirls.com/windows_recycle_bin.htm"
    :
    Two such utilities are Uneraser and File Recover. You'll also find very good unerase utilities in Ontrack SystemSuite and in Norton Utilities, which is available separately or as a part of Norton SystemWorks.

    If you need to recover a file immediately, don't install any of these undelete utilities onto the hard drive where the lost file is located, or you may overwrite its contents. Instead, run the program from the installation CD, if possible. Both Norton Utilities and SystemSuite let you do this. These two programs also provide a beefed up Recycle Bin which stores files which the standard Recycle Bin doesn't catch

    once the bin is emptied its gone. ive done this myself its annoying. somebody somewhere might know a way but any1 ive asked doesnt know
