    Create a file with notepad and name it skiprun.reg

    Add the following
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftInternet ExplorerMain]
    "RunOnceHasShown"=dword:00000001
    "RunOnceComplete"=dword:00000001

    run the file just created

    It can be fixed for the all the Windows systems by following the below steps:

    step1 :
    open notepad

    step 2:
    paste the following into it.

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftInternet ExplorerMain]
    "RunOnceHasShown"=dword:00000001
    "RunOnceComplete"=dword:00000001

    step 3:
    save the file as Skiprunonce.reg and close the notepad.
    (The icon doesn't look like a text document icon)
    step 4:
    Double click the saved file Skiprunonce.reg

    step 5:
    click yes for
    "Are you sure you want to add the information in path of .reg file to the registry?"

    After this your IE will be loaded as you wish !

    Internet options>general tab>
    (in the box where it say create home page tabs,, type each address on its own line)
    for example use: http://www.yahoo.com or
    http://www.google.com
    you first take mouse and left click and still hold down and delete, then type in new address like example
    then click apply and OK
    close browser page and then reopen and should be you home page that you set to your liking.

    ***
    you can look under current or default tab to see if your right home page is there if so it will jump up in box then click apply and OK

    small note check under the programs tab on Internet options and make sure there is a check mark in the box(default browser) tell me if Internet explorer is not my default browser.

    I had this problem too. I tried changing my homepage a million times but it still went to that page. Then one day it ran properly and I selected what I wanted and it said thanks for using internet explorer and it never ran again. Hope this helps!

    Go to the page you want to use as your homepage, bring up tools, internet options, general, then select use current. It's the first option under general.
    Deleting history won't delete the homepage. It just deletes the history of where you've been hanging out online.
