Help answer this question below.

Have system in car. The only problem i'm currently having is after a period of 10 or so minutes of not high, but medium volume the sound goes static, but if brought down it goes back to regular sound. are the speaker's overheating? haven't figured it out.

    Sounds like either the stereo or your amps are getting hot. Turn the gain up on the amps that will force the amps to do more and the stereo to do less work. Depending ware your amps are they might not get enough air flow across them to keep them cool, they do make fans for amps to help keep them cool. If that does not help have the stereo checked out by a car stereo repair shop to see if their is a problem in the stereo. And I never heard a speaker getting overheated.
