In supporting an access control system that draws 500mAmps, how long will a 7amp/hour battery backup last in the event of the mains current being dropped from the power supply unit? Show how you calculated your answer.

    1000mA is 1A.Your back up is 7AH.I.e if you draw 7 amperes it will take you one hour.
    so drawing 0.005 A it will take you
    7/0.005=14 hours but,it also depends on other factors like temperature ,moisture ,loose connections and the chemical composition and age of your battery.
