I have just returned from my physical and my cholesterol is a whopping 7.9, i know that changes in my diet and chronic drugs will be needed but what type of exercise should i be doing? More cardiovascular? or is there specific exercise that i can do?

Cardio is definitely good for heart health and reducing excess fat (which in turn can reduce cholesterol.) However for the long term you should also include some kind of weight training to build up muscle, even a little bit more extra muscle will help keep your weight in check because you will burn more calories at rest as well, all of that helping to keep cholesterol down. -
