    1) "In general terms, the healthy eating pyramid recommends the following intake of different food groups each day, although exact amounts of calorie intake depends on sex, age, and lifestyle:
    Daily exercise and weight control
At most meals, whole grain foods including oatmeal, whole-wheat bread, and brown rice;1 piece or 4 oz.
Plant oils, including olive oil, canola oil, soybean oil, corn oil, and sunflower seed oil; 2 oz. per day
Vegetables, in abundance 3 or more each day. Each serv. 6 oz.
2-3 servings of fruits; Ea. serv. = 1 piece of fruit or 4 oz.
1-3 servings of nuts, or legumes; Ea. serv. = 2 oz.
1-2 servings of dairy or calcium supplement; Ea serv. = 8 oz. non fat or 4 oz. of whole.
1-2 servings of poultry, fish, or eggs; Ea. serv = 4 oz or 1 egg.
    Sparing use of white rice, white bread, potatoes, pasta and sweets;
Sparing use of red meat and butter."

You should make some modifications to this if you are a vegetarian (I am one).

    2) "Avoid or use in moderation the foods below:
    - Solid fats --from land animals
    - Trans (partially** hydrogenated) & most deep fry oils.
Sorry: 99% of commercial fries [see end of page] and 90% of chips, shortenings and margarines.
    - "Vegetable" oil: corn, sunflower or undefined industrial types. The "white" -factory denatured- oils.
Fine are: virgin olive, canola, lin/flax & unhydrogenated soy -if you can't find canola- and mustard oil.
    - Flour (white - refined) and flour-made pasta. The more finely ground the flour and the more boiled [less al dente] the noodle, the higher the "glycemic index" ... not a healthy thing.
    - White rice -the more "whole", the better.
    - Sugar
White, brown, "glucose-fructose", molasses***, corn syrup & most soft drinks
    - Dairy
Not everyone puts it in the avoid group but it's a food with complications: NotDairy.com "

You didn't say why you should avoid food in the first place. However, if you think you have any intolerances try cutting out specific food groups one at a time. Normal culprits are dairy, yeast & wheat but there are many more. If you are trying to lose weight then limit intake of 'unhealthy' foods. List are readily available via the internet.
