I was caught shoplifting at a thrift store2008 totaling $160 and was given a citation by a police officer, in 2004 i was also caught shoplifting and did community service and the case wasn't prosecuted it was expunged will this theft in 2004 show up again

    Expunged means gone. Not prosecuted means that nothing was ever there.

    I think you are saying that you had a misdemeanor conviction for the 2004 went away. Assuming that there were no conditions to that, it should not show up as a conviction.

    Were you a juvenile at the time of the first offense.

    There may be something on the books that shows you have used up your eligibility to have another case dismissed, but it depends on your state laws and the practices of your county courts.

    Definitely take advantage of the offer of an attorney and listen carefully to his or her advice.

    It must have taken an entire shopping cart or two to get $160 worth of stuff out of a thrift store.

    Ask the probation department if they have a shoplifting aversion class. It might help you resist the urges.
