    i would think a new casino would be good for the unemployment rate but i have no clue about the crime rate

    Just the opposite. A casino is great for a town's economy. Provides jobs and recreation for people. Pays taxes to the city.
    Crime isn't really a factor since most people who would commit crime due to their financial irresponsibility are already doing so.

    yes there is. Because normally when a casino is built, the manager i probably either a gang member or mafia, or a very rich investor. Both take pride in reducing the city's economy and bringing the workers' money to their hands. This means more robbers, corruption, and crime within the city for money.
    I heard of a city in Texas, about the size of Miami but had a very low population density, some Apachee Indians decided to build a casino there. The town's economy pummeled, because most tourists and investors would only buy commerce and ''entertainment'' there. The town's stores and work places were closed and most of the civilians moved to other cities close by
