anyone, no matter how bad their actions were, deserves a fair and speedy trial, this is a principle that our coutry was founded on, the minute we lose sight of this, we completely lose our way, and might as well flush our morals down the toilet.

Totally, as an Australian, I am disgusted that my government has not approached the US to get him home in the way the UK have done for their people.
It makes me sick. He is human first, and isn't the US supposed to believe innocent until proven guilty.
Sorry, it makes me mad, I know it is not the fault of the US population that he is in this situation (he did make his bed!).

He has been held in limbo for some time now, I think at minimum he needs a trial immediately

He was released 2 years ago. He should have not been brought to Guantanamo Bay. He should have been shot.

David Hicks was released from Quantanamo, Cuba. As of May 20th, 2007, he is alive and well in Australia.

I suppose. But he's not alone. And frankly, I'm sick of hearing the media report on him. They only do it over here to distract people from the disgusting way that our right-wing government treats refugees, which is much worse than what this middle-class white person is going through.

Definitely. And all the others. One year, let along five, it too long to keep people locked up without trial. We used to criticize other countries for exactly this behaviour.

Execute him! we don't need him in this world. He knew what was wrong and still done it. Terrorists or those who associate with them do not deserve to live.
