your wording is throwing me off so badly. i think religion in general is an easy answer. billions could believe one religion, millions other, but these people can not accept that any of the other religions are true EDIT---my bad, i read it was "what can" not why why? oh well in that case, a lot of people are raised to belief certain things. these beliefs are imprinted in their minds, its hard to then go against what you've know your entire life. also, smome people do not fully understand the opposing "view" completely, so it's easier for them to disregard them as nonesense

Because so many people think they are right, but there is no way of proving it. They have their belief, and they want others to believe it too because to them it seems like the truth. Then there is stuff in nearly every religion about other religions being wrong, and to try and convert them etc. etc. I don't know 100% why. But you know what, it's bloody annoying. I don't try and do it, why does everyone seem to want me to convert to christianity? It ain't gonna happen!

Just speaking for me, Tom--N, I am a Christian, and I am here just answering questions, I am not trying to judge,(I know there are a few that wont believe that), or shove my beliefs down anyones throat. I just answer the questions that are posed. Now, on the other hand, I dont think I would be a very good Christian if I didnt think that there is only one way to reach Heaven. Do I believe the other religions are wrong? Yes, I do think they are wrong. But it is only required of me, by my God to tell others about Him, not to judge. If they want to believe that Buddah or whoever can save them, that is their business. I would not tell some one they are wrong in thier beliefs unless I am asked if they are right or wrong. That is why we have free will, to make our own decisions. Others may be different, but that is just me. I do not believe that all religions have their own road and we all get to the same place. The reason I believe there is only one road to salvation is because in John 14:6 Jesus says," I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

I think that coming from a christian perspective that personally other religions are wrong because I wouldn't be a christian if I believed something different, but I think that I can accept the fact that people believe different than me. I don't have to MAKE a person believe as I do, the truth will remain the truth even after the argument is through between two people. The truth will still remain standing, so I don't see the point in arguing about a certain religion. I don't think any religions are going to come to an agreement on a belief. I'm not going to believe as a muslim does or a buddhist or an atheist and they are not going to believe as me, so I don't understand why people don't just see that and stop trying to cause an argument. Every person on this earth has a different belief system and we were all raised in different households to believe different things, and none of us are going to be willing to change. I mean I grew up in a strictly christian only household and as I have gotten older this is now a decision of my own to be christian and I wouldn't change it for the world, but I mean I am going to put my belief out there and let it be heard and many people don't agree with it and become offended by this but if it is okay for other people to post as they feel then it is okay for me to do the same. That's how I feel. I think that any body can be accepting of another religion, it's all about whether you want to or not. No one is entitled to believe what anyone says, and no one has to tolerate anything that another person says about their belief. If you don't like something that a person has said to you then you have every right to be upset about it or to voice your opinion. I'm on here to voice my opinion about the questions that are being posted. If people don't like a certain post then this is not a place for them in my opinion because this is a place where you are supposed to post what you think not post what you want others to agree with so that it doesnt' cause an argument, everyone is entititled to their "opinion". I think that so many people are walking around here saying they have the truth, and this causes tension between other religions because no one wants to say they don't have the truth and everyone can't be right. That's just my opinion, I mean I'm not trying to offend anyone or nothing but that's just what I think.

Everyone is entitled to his own religion and his own opinion. We just aren't entitled to our own facts. And if a religion says that, for example, God lives in a golden cube inside the Great Pyramid, and that anyone who lives inside a properly oriented pyramid will never die, he's entitled to his beliefs and his opinion. He's just not entitled to compel others to act on it, if it's demonstrably false or harmful. So the Aztecs and Thugs were entitled to believe in human sacrifice--but because they continued practicing it, they were exterminated.

Cause sometimes is hard to admit that you are wrong and if you give yourself the chance to listen to others they might prove you wrong so i think is mostly fear and stubbornest.
