Could someone explain to me how there are legal performance enhancing drugs that athlete's are allowed to take?

    "Legal drugs" would not be a good term. Most "energy drinks", etc., that athletes may take for competition are really just a combination of vitamins and minerals that are known to enhance physical stamina. There are herbals that are also allowed, which are only the same thing. All can be found in natural foods. These are hardly the same as the synthetic chemical formulas that are rightly declared "illegal drugs" in sports. All the steroids should rightly be banned. The body produces its own steroids. A steroid enhancement is a "false" boost that is unnatural. They can also be dangerous. An athlete is either a natural athlete...or something else.
