Good news is the hard drive is probably ok (no guarantees though)
Re-reading question, since power light does not come on, I'd say 90% it's power supply. They're cheap, usually well under $100, and easy to install.
You could have had a power surge to damage power supply, so other components could have been damaged too.
If you're under warranty, Acer will deal with it.
You upgraded the firmware, didn't you?
They have an issue with that.

You're reading Acer Aspire desktop computer froze. Powered back on and the monitor, mouse and keyboard won't work. Black Screen, no beeps. All fans work. Power light on top won't light up, but logo at bottom lights up. Checked w/2 other monitors...still nothing.
