My laptop turns on if i plug it in ,the hd doesnt spin and nothing shows on the screen,the hd is good but the light doesnt turn on eigther

It sounds like either the system board or the internal power converter is bad. Unfortunately, this will require an enture system board replacement. Sorry for the bad news.

What seems to be the problem? My laptop shows a green or orange LED when I plug it in regardless of whether it is on or not. If it is off, then that LED lighting up is *all* that happens; no HD spin-up, black screen, and all. Or are you saying that when you don't have it plugged in that it does *nothing* even if you hit the power button, and that if you hit the button with it plugged in something different happens? Regardless, if you get NOTHING, not even a POST screen, then chances are that it's a power issue. Depending on the laptop, that could be either on-board, a bad adapter, or a bad battery. Give a little more detail and we might be able to help you better.
