    when a woman can't carry a child within her own body, a doctor can harvest her eggs/ova and the husbands sperm, combine them and implant the resulting fertilized egg in the womb of a second woman (the surrogate mother)who either volunteers or is hired for the purpose of carrying the couples child to term.
