I know people who switched from McCain to Obama because of her...sad to say...I believe that he would have lost regardless due to the American people that are sick of Republicans due to GW Bush.

If Palin was a factor to any extent, that McCain picked her is as much his own burden as hers. Therefore I can't say that Palin lost it for him. It was a joint effort. The pick for VP is the biggest decision a presidential candidate can make. And McCain was judged by many for that decision. It is an absolute tie.

No, but she contributed a whole lot. I'm sure a lot of people were thinking that they didn't want her as a VP.

No but she contributed. I think she took some of the uncertainty out of the minds of some swing voters.

I think had she ran against McCain she would have IMPROVED his chances though. =)

I think he might have had a better chance of winning had he not chosen her. Why he did is beyond me. She turned off a lot of people in the party. There were so many better choices. Strong, intelligent choices, male and female that he could have gone with.

No, Sarah Palin was not the reason he didn''t win the election. George Bush is the reason McCain was not elected. Which I think was totally unfair for McCain to be said he was George Bush.

McCain and Biden was the only ones runniong that was qualified to lead our country. It would have been a much better race if Biden had been McCain had been running for President...Leave George Bush out of the equation as he is no longer going to be a factor in the running of our country.

Now this is a valid question. Might McCain have won if he had not picked Palin?

I think he still would have lost but not by as much. I shudder to think about what things would be like had McCain been elected and then cos he is 675894032 years old he had some kind of health failure and died and we were stuck at the mercy of that crazy bitch.

That "theres nothing wrong with your economy" line put a SERIOUs dent in their campaign, and she finished sinking the ship.

I don't know that he would have won...but I think she definitely lessened his chances.. The thought of her assuming the presidency in an emergency frightened me...
