call microsoft they can help you with it. It happened to me and they made it work.
try logging on to guest, if you cant to that than go to the place that you bought the windows xp package. they should help alot more. now to activate your windows, you phone the number on the package that the cd came in. it should tell you to put in a bunch of numbers. the numbers are on the package on a yellow sticker. then you put them in and tell them some other stuff. then you are on your way. i hope this has helped you in anyway possible. yours truly, willsmith AKA brucekennedy

this is an old question, but for anyone in that situation now, try booting up in Safe Mode (F8), that should get you in so you can continue to activate from there, hopefully.

You're reading I reinstalled windows xp home edition, and now I can not long on to the computer, and every time i reboot a pop up says I need to activate my windows. How do I activate my windows if I can't log on to the computer?
