You're reading Does anyone agree with me about this spelling thing. I think it doesnt matter about the spelling as long as people can understand the questions and answers. what do you think

And how credible do you view web sites that have numerous misspellings? Not to be judgemental, as I misspell on occasion, but it is unprofessional, and that is why spell check was invented. TO HEP US OUT.
To use the excuse "I just can't drop everything to go get a dictionary" (like it's 200 miles away, and you have to wait for pony express? WE HAVE COMPUTERS!) is a poor excuse for laziness, or simply not caring.
points for you....

What is out of hand is the general population's tolerance for illiteracy. We live in a rich, blessed civilization, and we are all taught grammar and spelling from five years old to eighteen. It saddens me that few people appreciate that knowledge these days.

Lady Alathia, you hit the nail squarely on the head. Anyone can make a typo in by mistake, but to misspell out of laziness shows an appalling disregard for the language and for the act of communicating accurately. Given that lack of regard, why should I bother to attempt communication with such an individual at all?
