  • well I'll answer one, Separation of powers is the principle of restraining the three branches of government so that no-one of them will be able to assume complete control, thus creating a "political monopoly". such separation, carried out by a system of "checks and balances" is evident, for example in the president's right to veto (checking the legislative branch), or the fact that the president cannot present a bill (checking the executive branch), and so forth... BTW i'm not a us citizen so my examples may not be accurate, though i'm pretty sure they are, but the principle is still the same
